Central Heating System Cleaning Across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North London

A clean heating system runs more efficiently, costs less to run and lasts longer. Our engineers provide professional central heating system cleaning across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North London.

Central Heating System Cleaning Methods

We use the right cleaning method for your heating system and budget.

Power Flush

The most thorough method. A high flow pump circulates cleaning chemicals through all radiators and pipework under pressure. Removes sludge, scale and debris. Takes five to eight hours for a typical home.

Chemical Flush

A cleaning chemical is circulated through the heating system by the boiler pump over several days. Less aggressive than a power flush but still effective for moderately dirty systems. Suitable for older systems.

MagnaCleanse Flush

A powerful magnetic filtration flush system that captures magnetic iron oxide particles. Combines high flow flushing with magnetic filtration in one process. Very effective for removing black iron oxide sludge.

Magnetic Filter Installation

Fitting a magnetic filter like a MagnaClean or Fernox TF1 to your heating system. The filter captures ongoing sludge and debris circulating in the system water protecting your boiler and radiators.

Single Radiator Flush

Removing and flushing a single problem radiator that has stubborn cold spots. We take the radiator outside and flush it with a hose to clear heavy sludge that a power flush cannot shift.

System Water Test

Testing the water quality in your heating system to check for corrosion, inhibitor levels and pH. We can advise whether your system would benefit from cleaning or just needs fresh inhibitor.

What Our System Cleaning Includes

Test the system water to assess contamination level
Recommend the most appropriate cleaning method
Connect cleaning equipment and add system cleaner
Circulate cleaner through all radiators and pipework
Flush each radiator individually where applicable
Drain and refill the system with clean water
Add corrosion inhibitor to protect the system
Test the system runs correctly and radiators heat evenly

Why Choose Us for System Cleaning

Right Method

We assess your system and recommend the right cleaning approach. Not every system needs a full power flush. We won't sell you a service you do not need.

System Protection

Every system clean includes quality corrosion inhibitor to prevent future sludge formation. We can also fit a magnetic filter for ongoing protection.

System Cleaning FAQs

Common questions about central heating system cleaning

What is the difference between a power flush and a chemical flush?

A power flush uses a high flow pump to force cleaning chemicals through the system at pressure over several hours. A chemical flush circulates cleaner using the boiler pump over several days. A power flush is more thorough.

How often does a heating system need cleaning?

Most heating systems benefit from cleaning every five to seven years depending on water quality, system age and whether inhibitor has been maintained. Older systems or those in hard water areas may need cleaning more often.

What is a magnetic filter and do I need one?

A magnetic filter captures iron oxide sludge as it circulates. It protects your boiler heat exchanger from blockage. We recommend fitting a magnetic filter on every heating system, especially modern condensing boilers.

Can I clean my own heating system?

DIY cleaning with a garden hose misses most of the system and does not remove sludge from the boiler heat exchanger. Professional equipment circulates cleaner through the entire system at pressure. A proper clean needs professional kit.

Will system cleaning make my radiators heat better?

Yes. Radiators that were cold at the bottom due to sludge will heat evenly after cleaning. You should notice faster warm up times and more even heating throughout the house.

Is inhibitor really necessary after cleaning?

Yes. Without inhibitor corrosion starts again immediately and sludge begins forming straight away. We add quality inhibitor after every clean and recommend checking and topping it up annually.
