Emergency Water Supply Services

Fast diagnosis and repair of water supply problems.

No Water Supply

Complete loss of water to all taps and appliances. Could be a stopcock issue, frozen pipe, major leak or supply problem. We diagnose the cause and restore your water.

Low Water Pressure

Water pressure suddenly low at all taps or only some? We check for leaks, blockages, faulty valves and supply issues to identify the cause of low pressure.

Intermittent Water Supply

Water supply cutting in and out? This can indicate a valve problem, airlock or issue with the mains supply. We diagnose and fix intermittent water problems.

Frozen Water Supply Pipe

No water in freezing weather? The incoming supply pipe may have frozen. We can safely thaw frozen pipes and advise on insulation.

Supply Pipe Leak

Unexplained loss of water pressure or damp patches in the garden may indicate a leak on the supply pipe. We can help locate and access supply pipe leaks.

Airlock Clearance

Airlock in the plumbing system causing no water from some taps. We clear airlocks from hot and cold water systems to restore water flow.

Water Supply Problem FAQs

Common questions about water supply problems

What should I do if I have no water at all?

First check whether your neighbours have water to determine if it is a local or area-wide problem. Check your internal stopcock has not been turned off accidentally. If neither explains the problem, call us for diagnosis.

How do I check if the problem is my plumbing or the water company's?

Check your kitchen cold tap which usually comes directly from the mains. If this has flow, the mains supply is working and the problem is within your plumbing. If no taps work, check if your neighbours also have no water.

What causes sudden low water pressure?

A sudden drop in pressure can be caused by a burst pipe on your property, a partially closed valve, a leaking hot water cylinder, an airlock or a mains supply problem in your area.

Can a frozen pipe cause no water?

Yes. If the incoming supply pipe or internal pipework freezes, water cannot flow through. This is common during cold weather. Never use a naked flame to thaw pipes — it risks fire and pipe damage.

What is an airlock and how do you fix it?

An airlock is a pocket of air trapped in the pipework that blocks water flow. We clear airlocks by connecting mains pressure water to the affected pipe or by using specialist equipment.

Who is responsible for the water supply pipe — me or the water company?

The water company is responsible for the pipe up to the boundary of your property. You are responsible for the supply pipe from the boundary into your home. The internal stopcock marks the entry point.
