Yes. By law, any gas appliance including a gas hob must be installed and connected to the gas supply by a Gas Safe registered engineer. It is illegal and dangerous for anyone else to do it.
How long does a gas hob installation take?
A straightforward gas hob installation where the gas supply and worktop cutout already exist typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. Cutting a new worktop or running a new gas supply will take longer.
Can you disconnect and remove my old gas hob?
Yes. We safely disconnect the gas supply to your old hob and cap it off. We can remove the old hob for you and then install the new gas hob into the existing or enlarged cutout.
What is the difference between a gas hob and a gas cooker?
A gas hob is a built in appliance that sits in the worktop with the oven separate underneath or elsewhere. A gas cooker is a freestanding appliance with the hob and oven combined in one unit.
Do I need an isolation valve for my gas hob?
Yes. Gas regulations require an accessible gas isolation valve for every gas appliance. If one is not fitted we will install one as part of the hob installation.
Can you install a gas hob in a kitchen island?
Yes. We install gas hobs in kitchen islands. This usually requires gas pipework to be run under the floor or within the island unit. We can install the gas supply and connect the hob.
