Emergency Leaking Radiator Repair
A leaking radiator can cause serious water damage to floors, carpets and ceilings below. We attend urgently to stop the leak and repair or replace the radiator.
Radiator Not Heating Up
Radiator staying cold even when the heating is on. Could be air trapped, a stuck thermostatic radiator valve or a sludge blockage. We find and fix the cause.
Cold Radiator at Bottom
Radiator hot at the top but cold at the bottom. This indicates a build-up of sludge and debris inside the radiator. We can flush the radiator or advise on a full system powerflush.
Faulty Radiator Valve Repair
Thermostatic radiator valve stuck open, closed or leaking? We repair or replace faulty TRVs and manual radiator valves with quality replacements.
Bleeding Radiators
Air trapped at the top of radiators stops them from heating fully. We bleed radiators to remove the air and restore full heat output. If air keeps returning we investigate why.
Emergency Radiator Replacement
Radiator corroded, leaking beyond repair or needs replacing urgently. We carry common radiator sizes and can replace a radiator on the same visit.
Is the callout really urgent, or can it wait? Understand why a radiator is staying cold so you know whether to bleed it, balance the system or book an emergency engineer.

Emergency Radiator Repair FAQs
Common questions about radiator leaks, cold radiators and repairs
What should I do if a radiator is leaking badly?
Place a bowl or container under the leak to catch water. Lay towels or old sheets around the radiator to protect the floor. Turn off the radiator at both valves if possible. If the leak is severe, turn off the boiler and call us immediately.
Why is my radiator cold at the bottom but hot at the top?
This is almost always caused by sludge, rust and debris that has settled at the bottom of the radiator. It restricts water flow so the bottom stays cold. Flushing the radiator or a full system powerflush is the solution.
Why does a radiator valve leak?
Radiator valve leaks are usually caused by a worn gland seal, a loose compression fitting or corrosion of the valve body. We can tighten, repair or replace the leaking valve.
How often should radiators be bled?
Radiators should be bled when you notice they are cold at the top. If you need to bleed radiators more than once or twice a year there may be a problem, such as a leak letting air into the system or corrosion producing gas.
Can you replace a radiator with a different size or type?
Yes. We can replace your existing radiator with a different size, type or style including designer radiators, vertical radiators and towel rails. We can advise on heat output requirements for the room size.
What causes a radiator to corrode and leak?
Corrosion is caused by air and fresh water entering the system through a leak, or by the lack of corrosion inhibitor in the heating water. Regular servicing and inhibitor top-ups prevent corrosion and extend radiator life.
